In September we ran a competition offering clothing alterations to one of our lovely social media followers. Here's the story of how wedding dress alterations took first place.

Alterations Competition Winner

At London Fitting Rooms we are known for performing couture alterations. This includes red carpet dresses, suits and bridal gowns.

We also work with a multitude of exquisite luxury fabrics and materials. Our studio sees beaded gowns, sequinned evening dresses and the latest fashion trends.

Ready-to-wear clothing offers reinvention from fashion houses and designers. Then we offer tailoring to the clients' body shapes for the perfect fit.

Our expertise is why so many stylists, couture lovers and real brides choose our alterations services. A few months ago we offered this opportunity to our Instagram followers.

Clothing Alterations Competition

September sees the beginning of the autumn/winter fashion season in our studio and the Western World. To celebrate, our competition was launched.

We asked our followers to tag us and hashtag us in their favourite fall fashion outfits. The competition ran for a month before a winner was chosen.

We then began sharing competition entries to let people up to date on the process. It also gave our followers some great street style fashion inspiration.

Then we received a heart-warming story from a bride-to-be in need of wedding dress alterations. Something we were not expecting.

Alisha Ahmed aka. Gin In Tea Cups or Ginger wowed us with the joy of her photo. Plus, a wedding gown in need is exactly where we come in.

She was struggling to find an alterations company due to the complexity of tailoring the corset of her dress. That's where we stepped in.

Wedding gowns are often the most expensive and photographed outfits of a bride's life. Helping them look and feel their best is part of why we love our jobs.

Our fitter, Elise, took the measurements for how many centimeters the corset needed to be taken out. Then the length was checked before we worked our magic.

We used the corset’s seams' allowance to make the corset slightly bigger so it fits perfectly. Then we shortened the tulle layers to reach a perfect floor length.

We'd like to say huge congratulations to the happy couple and we are so pleased that you loved the alterations!
