One of our favourite summer 2015 fashion trends is embroidered dresses and we have seen our fair share this season. See the beautiful embroidery that has come through our doors.
Spring Summer Fashion Trends: Embroidered Dresses
Embroidery embellishes garments by adding designs, colour and extra dimensions to fabric. This craft is nothing new but has now been reimagined for summer fashion 2015.
Embroidered dresses is one of the latest fashion trends to pose unique challenges to our tailors. They precisely preserve the original design as they make clothing alterations to create the best fit.
At London Fitting Rooms we get to work with beautiful designer clothes before the season begins. Here's the embroidered dresses we've seen so far in 2015.
Alexander McQueen Dress
Embroidery is both delicate work and, like anything, subject to wear and tear. Luckily, we're on hand to make garments as good as new.
We repaired this embroidered Alexander McQueen dress and as you can see our work is invisible.
Just the lower-arms of sleeves can be enough embroidery to make an impact with this Dior dress. It has already made headlines as a favourite on and off the catwalk.
The detail and colours add those extra points of interest and luxury.
Emilio Pucci Dress
The embroidery on this Emilio Pucci kaftan dress has been used to create a pattern and frame cut-outs. We shortened the hem and added a modesty piece to the neckline.
We created the extra layer from an embroidered piece of the hem. The beautiful embroidery is now continued through the area we altered.
Ermanno Scervino Top
We also added a silk lining to the bust of this Ermanno Scervino top. It's now less transparent and ready for the summer sun.
We've been shortening this Valentino gown from the waist to keep the original finish at the hemline. Our tailor, Beata is cutting the beads with pegs which is very precise work.
There's also delicate bronze embroidery beneath the impressive beadwork. The finish is simply exquisite.
Temperley London Dress
This dusty pink Temperley London gown is on our tailor, Tatjana's sewing machine. She's about to reduce the armholes and reapply the beads as original. Whilst the touches of embroidery add an extra level of texture annd beauty.
We lifted the shoulders and shortened the hem on this Jovani gown with an embroidered back. Again, the embroidery adds colour around the beading on the sheer fabric. This helps to create the illusion of floating embellishment on a backless dress.
Oscar de la Renta Dress
We've been shortening this structured silk dress from Oscar de la Renta. The floral pattern is sewed on to the tulle with precision and wonderful craftsmanship.
The second Valentino gown to make our list is this elegant embroidered dress. Vania is about to cut the tulle of the red burgundy Valentino gown.
She'll retain the raw edge and leave the embroidered florals intact.
Dolce and Gabbana Dress
This colourful Dolce and Gabbana dress has brightened up our studio. We let out the bust and marvelled at the detail.
