We ask three questions to the manager of The Mews bridal boutique, Lauren Crispin. In the second part of our interview series with creative individuals, Lauren shares the inspirations behind their mix of French couture and bridal fashion.
Three Questions to The Mews
Seven years ago The Mews opened in their first boutique in Clifton Village, Bristol. They have since gone on to open a second stunning location in Notting Hill.
Their latest venture sees them specialise in French bridal couture and we’ve been known to work in-store at their fitting rooms. We’re constantly inspired by their exclusive lines and wanted to find out what inspires them.
We asked manager, Lauren Crispin, three quick-fire questions to get an insight into what makes The Mews tick ahead of their upcoming challenge. The Mews of Notting Hill is going stateside.
The Mews is hosting a pop up shop in New York City with their French designers at The Gramercy Park Hotel on October 6th – 10th, 2014. The Mews is now taking bookings for what is sure to be an incredible event and we couldn’t wait to take a peek behind the curtain.
1.) What led you to open a French couture bridal boutique?
No one does it quite as good as the French do! They are so effortlessly beautiful in their style and I have always admired their fashion sense, taste and most of all materials.
There was a gap in the British bridal market for something a little bit different and so we brought Paris to London.
2.) What one thing inspires you on a daily basis?
I have always had a love affair with fashion and here at The Mews we don’t just show brides our collection we help them with their style and their full image on the day. At The Mews, bridal meets fashion and that is my inspiration.
Working with such luxurious materials and designs is also a huge inspiration. You have to really love what you sell.
The bride that is drawn to our exclusive designers Laure de Sagazan and Rime Arodaky are looking for something unique yet effortlessly beautiful. They are usually very fashion forward with a key eye for detail.
3.) What's the most rewarding part of your business?
Receiving images and thank yous from our brides. It is always such a pleasure to see the final result and know we were a part of the special wedding journey!
And indeed we know how lovely that feels with this thank you note. We Look forward to seeing all the upcoming adventures from The Mews.
